Please enroll in the 2022-23 Parent Pre-Enrollment Course now on the live course page. Both live and AYOP families will complete the Parent Course on the live site. If you haven't already done so, you will need to set up a parent account on the vhsg-live.org site.
We suggest getting the Parent Pre-Enrollment Course done NOW so you have finished it. Some live classes are now enrolling and we will post more as volunteer teachers step up. Please consider volunteering to teach so we can offer as many courses as possible. See below sections for status on live classes.
2022-23 AYOP (At Your Own Pace) classes are now available and enrolling on the vhsg-ayop.org site. The enrollment keys are available in the 2022-23 Parent Pre-Enrollment Course upon completion.
Classes available in 2022-23 as AYOP are:
MATH
- Saxon Math 54
- Saxon Math 65
- Saxon Math 76
- Saxon Algebra 1/2
- Saxon Algebra 1
- Saxon Algebra 2
- Saxon Advanced Math
SCIENCE
- Apologia General Science
- Apologia Physical Science
- Apologia Biology
- Apologia Chemistry
- Apologia Physics
- Apologia Advanced Biology
LANGUAGES
- ASL 1 (American Sign Language 1)
PLEASE NOTE: If you aren't using the classes until fall, you may want to enroll in the LIVE WITH RECORDING classes instead of the AYOP classes. That will allow you to see the live class recorded lectures even if you can't attend class in the online classroom at the time the teacher is there. It will give you more class resources and support. However, if you are working on homework during the summer, you can enroll in the AYOP classes now. (Only math, science and ASL 1 are available as AYOP classes this year. Not all classes have the formatting needed to run AYOP.) LIVE WITH RECORDING classes will enroll with live classes as we get teachers volunteering to teach them.Virtual Homeschool Group is an ALL VOLUNTEER CO-OPERATIVE. We have no paid staff.
The classes we can offer our kids depend on YOU! Please volunteer so we can offer as many possible classes for our kids.
Live classes that run this year will have two options:
- Students can attend the live class in the online classroom and participate directly with the teacher and other students.
- If the live class time does not work for a student to attend, they can choose to take the class as a RECORDED class. Each of the live classes will be recorded and students can watch it at a later date. This will also be helpful if students want to enroll later in the year after the class has already started. They can watch the recorded class on their own schedule.
Classes listed above can ONLY run if they are completely built by June 30. If they miss the deadline, they won't be able to run this year. There are NO BOOKS NEEDED for many of the slide projects. Teaching transcripts are already complete, so it is a very simple task of formatting the transcripts into slides and finding some free images to use in them. There are simple tutorials.
Some of the later build projects may need books, but they are the same books you will need if your child takes the class.
PLEASE join the Volunteer Build Team if you want to see these classes run. Helping on ANY of these classes frees up the volunteer admin team and more experienced build volunteers to work on more difficult tasks to prepare classes YOU want for your kids. TEAMWORK is ESSENTIAL. If only the current volunteers are working on them, we will struggle to get them built on time.
Please enroll in the Join Build Team Course for details to join the Build Team. These projects can only run after they are built, and we need your help.
The Volunteer Admin Team will also need help with some enrollment and site maintenance tasks throughout the spring and summer. The Volunteer Build Team assists with some of those tasks as well that are necessary for all of our classes.
To see full descriptions of classes that can run if built, you may go to the following link. Required resources if the class runs are in the Build Team Course. CLASSES THAT NEED BUILDERS AND TEACHERS TO RUNCLASSES NEEDING VOLUNTEER TEACHERS TO RUN:
If a class is offered more than one day per week, you can choose to co-teach with another teacher. Please work with the Teacher Recruit Team to find out your options. Unless otherwise noted, classes run for an hour long.
Please email vhsgteacher@gmail.com and enroll in our Teacher Recruit Course to learn more about volunteering to teach with Virtual Homeschool Group.
The Teacher Recruit Team will be able to answer any questions you may have and show you around an online classroom.
To see full descriptions and required resources of classes that can run if we get teachers, you may go to the following link. (The Volunteer Admin Team is still in the process of adding a few of the class descriptions to this category. They should be there within a few days.) CLASSES THAT NEED TEACHERS TO RUN
THESE CLASSES HAVE TEACHERS THAT HAVE FORMALLY COMMITTED TO TEACHING THEM. TIMES MAY STILL BE PENDING, BUT THEY HAVE A FORMAL COMMITMENT TO RUN. THEY WILL LIKELY START ENROLLING LATE JUNE/EARLY JULY.
To see full descriptions and required resources of classes that will be enrolling soon, you may go to the following link. CLASSES THAT HAVE TEACHERS AND WILL BE ENROLLING SOON- Classes in this section will have volunteers that have fully committed to teach and are through the Teacher Recruit process. We put them in this section while the Admin Team is preparing the course for enrollment.
- If you are ready to fully commit to teaching a class and do not yet see your class here, please email vhsgteacher@gmail.com to make sure we are not missing any information from you regarding the class.
- We encourage teachers to volunteer ASAP so we can get the classes enrolling and work to find volunteers for classes that do not yet have teachers.
- Volunteers that step up first have first choice on time slots for classes. We have a limited amount of students we can have in the online classroom at a specific time due to classroom subscription/budget.
THESE CLASSES ARE NOW ENROLLING.
Thank you so much to the teachers volunteering to teach these classes! You may take the class as Live Interactive and attend the class in the online classroom while your teacher is there. This is the best way to do it since you can ask your teacher questions and interact with other students for review games, etc.If you are not able to attend live, however, there is the option to take the class as a Live Recorded class. This allows you to watch the class lecture recording later. This gives more resources than the AYOP classes since you have access to the live class recordings in addition to any AYOP videos. To enroll in the class, you must first complete the 2022-23 Parent Pre-Enrollment course at https://vhsg-live.org/course/view.php?id=345Upon completion of the Parent Course, you will get the enrollment keys for the live classes.AFTER COMPLETING PARENT COURSE, YOU MAY ENROLL IN THE FOLLOWING COURSES AT THE LINKS BELOW
